Manager- Lucy Cooper

Lucy has been our manager for four years now, joining us after previous experience of both nurseries and primary schools. Lucy has her BA (hons) degree in Early Years and has used this to influence changeover the setting. She has done a variety of CPD courses including safeguarding level 2 and inter agency training, making her designated safeguarding lead for the setting. She has also completed her SENCo training, alongside a range of other SEN qualfiications and has previous experience within the SENCo role. She has also completed beginning with babies training, PEEP training, and courses promoting an improvement in literacy in maths. She completed training to specialise in working with children with english as an additonal language and this has been really influential in practise. She has both paediatric and adult first aid training, alongside prevent duty awareness and a range of other training.
Melissa is our deputy manager after joining our team back in April 2016. As Lucy goes on maternity leave in October 2019, Melissa will be taking over as acting setting manager. Prior to joining us, Melissa has experience working in nursery settings, as well as a specalist provision school. During her time within a specalist provision school. she gained lots of experience working with children with a range of additional needs, using equipment appropriate to their requirements, and supporting them in the most suitable way to gain the full potential from their learning. Melissa has full SENCo training, and initially was in the role of SENCo within the setting, before taking on the deputy manager position. She has completed safeguarding level 2 and inter agency training, alongside both adult and paediatric first aid training. She has a wide and varied range of CPD courses which she has completed, and influence her every day practise within the setting.
Deputy Manager- Melissa Leuty
Sophie Moyse- Acting deputy manager Sophie is our acting deputy manager, taking on Melissa’s role once Lucy is on maternity leave. Sophie has been with us over three years, initially joining us as a student, and during this time has developed a wonderful passion for the sector. She has built fantastic bonds with the children, showing such skill with helping children to settle who may initally finally the seperation process of nursery quite difficult, and helping these children to build relationhips with staff and peers. Sophie is paediatric first aid trained, alongside relevant safeguarding qualfiications and with a responsibility for fire safety. She has completed a range of CPD training, particularly with a focus on outfoor learning.
Laura Hunt- SENCo Laura joined us as our SENCo in November 2018. She has previous experience with both schools and nurseries, and has spent much of this time focussing on a SENCo role. Laura plans, monitors and assesses the learning and development goals of all of our children who may have additional needs, and supports cluster groups surrounding areas of needs and targets. She is level 3 qualfiied and has additional SENCo training alongside a range of SEN based CPD training. She has full and relevant paediatric first aid training, alongisde a variety of safeguarding courses.
Beth Owen- Level 3 practitioner Beth joined us initially as an apprentice, and has continued with us as a qualified member of staff. Beth is extremely popular with the children, which is reflected in her consistently high numbers of key children, who have chose her as their ‘special nursery person’! Beth has full and relevant paediatric first aid training, alongside food hygiene and a range of safeguarding training. She has done a variety of CPD courses mainly focussing on characterisitics of effective learning and outdoor learning experiences and opportunities.
Courtney Mcglashan- Level 3 practitioner Courtney has spent time in a variety of settings, including nurseries and working in children’s clubs and creches abroad. She has worked with a range of ages within these roles, however, has spent a vast amount of time with under 2’s and this is reflected in the wonderful relationships she has built with our youngest children. She has a particular interest in arts and crafts activities, and the children love the creative ideas she brings to the nursery everyday. Paediatric first aid training and safeguarding are up to date.
Kate Tilbrook- Level 3 practitioner Kate has recently rejoined us, after taking maternity leave with her third daughter. She has worked in nurseries for over ten years, with previous baby room supervisor experience. The children are exctied to have Kate back with us, and new children are enjoying getting to know her too.
Laura Bareford- Early Years Apprentice Laura joined the team, in November 2018 She is currently completing her level 3 in early years, and is due to finish before the end of December 2019. She has built on her early years experience since joining us, but also had previous experience from nursery work. She has already brought fantastic ideas to the setting,particularly in terms of developing outsideand lots of craft activities which the children have thoroughly enjoyed and fully engaged with.
Suzanne Lorenz- Level 3 bank staff Suzanne joins us on a regular basis, which the children absolutely love. She has a passion for the outdoors- whatever the weather and is yet to spend a day inside since joining us over three years ago. She loves all kinds of physical and active play, and the children are fascinated with her imaginative and interactive games and story telling! She has full and relevant up to date first aid training and safeguarding training.
Abbie Borland- Level 3 practioner Abbie joined us in December 2017, after previous experience within nurseries and supported young adult living. Abie went on maternity leave back in June 2019, to have her little boy, and plans to rejoin us in summer term this academic year.
Grace Parkes- Early Years Apprentice Level 2 Grace joined us in January 2019 to complete her level two apprenticeship in Early Years. She has already settled in fantastically to the team, and the children love having her around.
Chloe Munson- Early Years Apprentice Level 3 Chloe joined us in January 2019 to complete her level threeapprenticeship in Early Years. She has a level three qualfiication in teaching assisting, and has now decided to focus on early years. She has created some fantastic learning opportunities already for the children, particularly those with an arts and crafts focus.
